Good afternoon! It’s time for some security updates on Planet 4, retiring the Tags redirection and fixing a couple of bugs. Let’s go!
Features 🛠️
PLANET-7917 Retire Tags redirection option in favor of the redirection tool
What the Tags used to do is replace the default listing page content with the content of that redirected page. That is going to be phased out in favor of a more straightforward redirection tool. Meaning the reverse redirection option from Planet 4 > Features is being removed.
Existing tag redirections will be migrated through the already installed redirection functionality tool. Keep in mind that this is a complex feature and can have SEO impact (as in some cases, you can end up with two URLs for the exact same content (tag and original page)). And also: in New IA, the meaning of Tags is different, so no need to offer this custom functionality specifically for tags.
Please note: we’re in the process of updating this section of the Handbook. The documentation about this will be changed soon.
PLANET-7905 Modernize HTTP security headers usage
In short: We have removed deprecated (old, not recommended) X-XSS-Protection
header as attackers can abuse this, and added the widely supported headers like X-Frame-Options
for more security on all P4 sites.
Bug Fixes 🐞
PLANET-7921 The manual override shows different articles than the one set up in the Post lists block
- And now they show the correct Articles!
PLANET-7904 TypeError: p4_client_side_gravityforms_prefill(): Return value must be of type array, bool returned
- And that has been fixed!
PLANET-7902 TypeError: enqueue_share_buttons(): $social_data must be of type array, null given
- And that has also been fixed!
🤕 Don’t let bugs run free! Make sure to report them here.
