Sprints #66 and #67 of 2018 have been heavily focused on migrations and final preparatory work for the upcoming Block: Form. An impactful element of this release is the reverse of the P4 “Shedding Light” aesthetic theory to support Right-to-left alphabets. Improvements to the “Covers” block, to the page_type, Category and Author profile wrappers were also included.
Please keep reporting bugs and submitting / voting for new features, IdeaPush is working better than ever!
Release v1.35 (5/12/2018)
- PLANET 2989 – RTL: Reverse background gradients
- The P4 design had to be reversed to allow our unique “Shedding light” to support right-to-left (RTL) alphabets. In this specific case, we had to make the Greenpeace MENA (Middle-East & North Africa) website display the Arabic language in all its awesomeness.
- PLANET 2963 –Explore how to give P4 editors the “flush cache” command
- We spent some time to investigate how to give editors access to the “flush object cache” command in the dashboard of the administration in order to make instant changes appear in my P4 site. In case of NVDA or Live actions happening, the delay of content being updated slowly is lowering the impact of P4 for Greenpeace campaigns. Until now a P4 Admin was required to do that. From now on everyone with editor rights can see and click this “Flush Object Cache” link
- PLANET 1799 – Add wrapper to default template
- Categories not linked to issue pages (see Navigation > Issue pages) have now a page wrapper, see an example here.
- PLANET 2948 – Standard updates: Timber to 1.8.3, ngix at 2.0.1
- Timber and ngix needed to be updated to all P4 instances, to keep up with our software awesomeness..
IdeaPush fixes (live at >> Improving P4) ?
- PLANET 2574 – IdeaPush: Fix TAG page (bug fix!)
- IdeaPush tags were looking really weird, breaking voting buttons and navigation, all good now, see the UX / UI example
- PLANET 2979 –IdeaPush: radio buttons disappeared from Form
- For some reasons the radio buttons were not displayed in the form (thanks Alessio for flagging it!), all good now.
Covers Block fixes ?
- PLANET 2910 – Take Action covers are sorted oldest to newest (bug fix!)
- The “Take Action covers” were not ordered properly. They follow the right sequence now, determined by:
- Publication date – most recent ones will appear first, oldest last
- ‘Order‘ field, overriding the publication date. The lower the number, the higher the Take Action page will appear on the page.
- Alphabetically – when several TA pages have the same date and order
- The “Take Action covers” were not ordered properly. They follow the right sequence now, determined by:
- PLANET 2848 – No space between campaign covers rows (bug fix!)
- The “Campaign thumbnail” option of the Covers block were not adding space between rows. Not anymore.
- PLANET 2929 – Covers Block: Load More button has an ellipsis
- Why the “Take Action covers” were showing […] (aka ellipsis) in the “Load More” buttons? Unclear. They don’t anymore.
“Load More” / Page Type wrapper / Author page improvements ?
- PLANET 2915 – Page Type page: Results appearances (bug fix!)
- Multiple issues were happening with the Page type wrappers (see the international Story or Publication), posts’ thumbnails were breaking, datelines were not pulled out as per P4 settings and excerpts were behaving inconsistently (e.g. sometimes ellipsis […], sometimes “Read More”). Everything is beautifully aligned and consistent now
- PLANET 2928 and PLANET 2930 – Page Type page: Load More button is wrong colour and wrong size (bug fix!)
- “Load more” button has been fixed in Page type wrappers, it was behaving inconsistently in terms of colour and size.
- PLANET 2926 and PLANET 2927 – Author Profile page: Load More button is wrong colour and wrong size (bug fix!)
- “Load more” button has been fixed in Author Profile pages (see Edit your P4 / WordPress profile). Author pages now pull out the right posts in an awesome, consistent way. Check Rex Weyler author page on the International site, for an awesome example.
- PLANET 2933 – Articles block: Load More button is wrong colour (bug fix!)
- Last of the “Load More” button-related bugs. In the Articles Block as well, the button behaves correctly and with the right design..
