The first releases of 2022 bring in a bunch of design improvements! The new navigation bar with its 2 styles (‘dark’ and ‘light), a new search command and the country selector moved to the footer! The covers block gets a new style (carousel), posts now can display the reading time, the tracking setup is now synchronised with the programme tools, the “enhance donate button” feature was removed .

You can now choose between a “Dark” and a “Light” mode in Admin > Planet 4 > Navigation. The footer colour will never change.

- Following the idea, admins can now set up a reading time (e.g. 2min read) for some (or all) post types.
- To configure for which posts you want to display the reading time, go to Admin > Posts > Post Types > edit one Post type (e.g. story or blogs) > Tick the box “Display an estimated reading time on this content” box and all posts of this type will display a reading time.
- The “xxx min read” string is translatable in LoCo, look for the “%d min read” string
- PLANET-5609 – Covers block: Create a Carousel layout style
- The Covers block now has a new layout allowing to displays a single, horizontally scrollable row of covers!
- PLANET-6522 – Remove option for enhanced Donate button
- The “enhanced donate button on mobile” (which used to stick the “Donate” button on mobiles) style is not part of the new design, so we removed it from the P4 settings.
- PLANET-6505 – Post Author avatars: hide on “author override”
- As overridden Authors lack author page and bio, when the “Author Override” feature is set, the recently launched author image is now removed.
- PLANET-6452 and PLANET-6451 – Pull “Local Projects” and “Global Projects” values from Google Sheets
- As a we moved away from Smartsheet, we had to make sure our tracking standards are integrated with the new programme system. Now all P4 sites pull out values from the Global Google Sheets.
- PLANET-6536 – Ensure WPML doesn’t localize feature settings
- A change in the overall Multilingual plugin setup. Nothing changes for the Admins of Multi-lingual sites!
